Development Background

Location Status of Magok District

• Only 13km far away from the city, and Incheon international and Kimpo airports, and metropolitan transportation network is concentrated, so it is the region that can take a charge of the gateway of Seoul west-south area.
• The rail way network (subway line 5, 9 (2009 1st step), and Incheon international railway (2010 2nd step) is penetrated throughout the object area, so the condition of broad area transportation is very fine because it is directly connected to the Incheon international airport and metropolis.
• Specially, it is closed to the Kinpo airport, it can be connected with domestic major cities, and by the Kimpo-Haneda routine, one day business district is created, so it has very strong advantage about the airline transportation condition. Also, in a point view of unity, because it is located at the center of metropolis west axis where connects Gaesung-Paju-Ilsan-Magok-Suwon, so it can take a charge of the center functions in the metropolis west broad area city region.

• Pa Joo LCD Local Industry region
  Pa Ju Si and Gyung Gi local corporation operated together. Construction work began in March 2003, and planned to be completed first step of construction in 2005. (scale of 408 acre (500,000pyung)) Primary purpose is to produce high-tech product and research development through Korean and international enterprises. (92% of involved enterprises are LG and Phillips). Also, it is planned to deal with Nonmetal, mineral manufacture, chemical compound, and manufacturing chemical product.

  Development project to construct 5,390 acre (6,600,000 pyung) town of international business related to airport and harbor in Yeon soo Gu. Aim to environment concerned construct cultural and ecological town of R&D hub of future high-value added knowledge business such as IT and BT.
• Sang Am Digital Media City (DMC)
  Project to construct 139 acre (170,000 pyung)scale of media industry in SaeChonNyun new town, Sand Am Dong Mapogu; 6km straight away from Magok region. It is designated center of the region, and divided into central, recommended, and common inducement duty. The central inducement duty which public sector led is primary made up.
• Go Yang International Convention Center (KINTEX)
  KINTEX is exhibition support industry; Gyunggido, Go Yang Si, and KOTRA supported to develop. One-third of construction of INTEX exhibition hall was completed in April, 2005, and it is expected to be the biggest scale as a single exhibition building in the north eastern Asia.

  Project to construct town complex of venture industry, fashion design industry, high-tech industry, knowledge industry in GuRoDong, GuRoGu and GaSanDong.
• Gong Neung Dong NTN Technopolis
  Project to construct Seoul techno park of high-tech industry; like, nano, IT product equipment, micro system packaging, submicron tech part, and R&D, to balance level of town development b/w Gang Nam and Gang Buk.
